Happy Diwali! A Quick and Handy Tip for Learning with ChatGPT 🎉
As we celebrate Diwali, I wanted to share a small yet impactful tip for using ChatGPT as a study buddy. Today, I decided to dive into the SQL concepts of “Inserting, Updating & Deleting Data.” Here’s how I used ChatGPT to create a hands-on practice setup:
Step-by-Step Guide:
Step 1: Capture the Learning Material
To kick things off, I grabbed a screenshot of content on SQL from the internet. A little resourcefulness goes a long way!
Step 2: Crafting the ChatGPT Prompt
I prepared a detailed prompt to make ChatGPT my SQL tutor. Here’s what it included:
Pretend to be my SQL teaching expert, I want you to do the following
- Convert attached image to text
- Formulate 15 questions (easy, medium, hard) along with answers.
- Provide SQL statements for datasets provided in the questions so that I can use these datasets in my local MySQL database.
Format to be followed :
(a) Main Topic
(b) Dataset required to do these exercises (create table, insert records etc)
(c) Sub topics
(d) Create 10 questions for each subsection, ranging from easy to hard, with all questions compiled in one section and answers at the end.
EXAMPLE:
Step 3: Setting Up the Database Locally
I fired up my local MySQL setup and pasted in the SQL commands (for creating tables and inserting records) provided by ChatGPT. Easy and efficient!
Step 4: Practice Time
And that’s it! With my local database setup, I now have a tailored practice environment where I can work through exercises and cement my understanding of SQL commands.
Using ChatGPT in this way made learning SQL much more interactive and efficient. If you’re looking to dive deeper into SQL or any technical concept, this method can be a game-changer! 🚀
